Beginning July 1, 2025, school districts and charter schools must set rules for the six work weeks of paid parental leave. The six weeks must be taken all at once unless the director approves extenuating circumstances. If you split the leave, each part must be at least one week. You must use the leave within 12 months of a birth, stillbirth, or adoption of a newly placed minor child.
