Wayne County wheel tax ends after approval

The law repeals Wayne County's wheel tax, including amendments to the 2004 law that created it. The repeal takes effect only after approval by a two-thirds vote of the county legislative body. The law takes effect immediately for the approval process. The county's presiding officer must announce approval or rejection and certify the result to the Secretary of State. The required notice records the vote date, votes for and against, abstentions, and an official seal. The law gives no tax amount or calendar date for ending the tax.
