Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee state agencies and employees cannot use the term "West Bank" to describe Judea and Samaria in official materials. State funds cannot be used to make materials that use "West Bank" for that area. This does not apply when citing a communication from a federal agency. It does not restrict classroom lectures or scholarly articles by public university faculty. The rule still applies to administrative items like course descriptions, catalogs, press releases, guidance, rules, briefings, and other official work product. Official government material includes those items, and a state agency includes any state department, division, office, board, commission, or institution.
