Portland charter section removed with approval

The law deletes Section 11 of Article XII from the City of Portland’s charter. The rest of Article XII is renumbered. This change only takes effect if the Portland legislative body approves it by a two-thirds (2/3) vote. The presiding officer must proclaim the result and certify it to the Tennessee secretary of state. For the limited purpose of that local vote, the act is effective upon becoming law.
