No fee to dissolve a corporation

Beginning July 1, 2026, you do not pay a state filing fee to end a Tennessee corporation. The Secretary of State charges no fee to file articles of termination. This lowers the one-time cost to close a nonprofit or other corporation.

90-day notice and finances after fundraising stops

Beginning July 1, 2026, if you registered to solicit contributions in Tennessee and you stop, you must act within 90 days. You must tell the Secretary of State that your solicitation has ended and file your financial documents.
