Local airport board gains broader authority

The law lets a joint airport board formed by two cities and two counties under an interlocal agreement use all powers of both joint and regional airport authorities. The board is a public instrumentality and a public body corporate and politic. It may file a charter with the Secretary of State to show its corporate status. The interlocal agreement sets the board’s makeup and member terms; other Title 42 rules do not control these details. The law takes effect upon becoming law.
