New rules for repeat third-party building inspections
Beginning July 1, 2026, this Tennessee law applies to actions taken and conduct occurring on or after that date. When you or your representative hire a third-party inspector for a locally required building inspection, later related inspections must also use a third-party inspector. This requirement covers only the same inspection category. It does not require third-party inspectors for other inspection categories. The law sets no inspection fee.
