State pays counties for prosecution costs

Counties can bill the Department of Correction for prosecution costs covered by state law. A county must send an invoice of those costs to the Department. The Department must pay the legally allowed amounts within 60 days of getting the invoice. Only expenses permitted by law are paid. This act takes effect upon becoming law.
