Returning students can face discipline after withdrawal
Tennessee school districts and public charter schools can keep investigating discipline issues after a student withdraws during the investigation. If the student returns to the same district or charter school, it can impose discipline based on the findings. Any discipline must follow that district’s or charter school’s own policy. The law takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
