It is a crime to fly a drone within 400 feet of, or over, a ticketed entertainment event. This is a Class A misdemeanor. Flights are allowed with consent from someone with legal authority over the event. FAA‑authorized flights that follow federal rules are allowed. Venue employees and regulated utility workers can fly for official work. Law enforcement, military, and emergency management can fly while on duty. A property owner may fly over their own land if they follow federal rules, do not interfere with the event, and do not record security procedures for unlawful purposes. A ticketed entertainment event means a music, sports, or performing arts event at a gated or barriered location that requires a ticket. Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules apply to acts on or after that date.
