Optional free gun lockers for courthouse visitors

Tennessee county sheriffs can offer free gun storage where county courthouses restrict or prohibit firearms under § 39-17-1359(g) or § 39-17-1306. This storage is for people carrying firearms under Tennessee laws § 39-17-1351, § 39-17-1366, or § 39-17-1307. Storage must use separate, secure, lockable units at or near a designated public entrance. Sheriffs are not required to offer storage, and the law does not change existing firearm carry rights. The law took effect immediately upon becoming law.
