3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
If your child is an unemancipated minor and got medical care, you can access all records from that care. Providers and facilities must give you medical treatment and prescription records. This includes care given without your consent and care allowed for minors under other Tennessee laws. You may also review mental health, medical, rehabilitation, and prescription records. In custody or visitation cases, parents can access records even for treatments minors can get without consent.
Healthcare providers must get informed consent from a parent or legal guardian before vaccinating or treating a minor. A licensed physician may give emergency treatment without consent when state law allows. The law defines medical procedure and medical treatment to make these rules clear.
A public school employee may use a bleeding control kit to stop bleeding. Staff may also give bandages, gauze, or ice packs for small cuts, scrapes, bumps, and bruises.
