Seven district seats for Cheatham school board

Beginning with the August 2032 general election, Cheatham County uses seven school districts of roughly equal population. One board of education member is elected by voters in each district. The county legislative body sets the district lines by resolution. Current board members keep serving until their terms end. Voters elect one new member in August 2032 for a four-year term. Board seats continue on staggered four-year terms.

Two-thirds county vote required to start

The law takes effect only if the Cheatham County legislative body approves it by a two-thirds vote. The presiding officer must announce the result and certify it to the Tennessee Secretary of State. Without this approval and certification, the district changes do not begin.
