Officials’ pay rises, no midterm raises

The law raises a set monthly payment from $120 to $300. That is $180 more each month, or $2,160 a year. If you are a current elected official, your pay does not change until your term ends. The increase applies only after the City of Greenbrier approves the act by a two thirds vote.

City must approve by two thirds vote

This law applies in Greenbrier only if the city legislative body approves it by a two thirds vote. The presiding officer must announce the result and certify it to the secretary of state. The approval or rejection process is in effect now. All other parts start only after the required local approval.
