County control over hospital property deals

The hospital district’s board cannot sell any real estate it owns or operates. The board also cannot lease substantially all facilities in one deal or related deals without approval from the Williamson County Board of Commissioners. The board may sell or lease personal property, like equipment. These rules take effect only if the Williamson County legislative body approves them by a two-thirds vote, the presiding officer proclaims that approval, and it is certified to the Secretary of State.
