Beginning September 1, 2025, the law requires Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to create a statewide online alert system. People must sign up to receive email alerts about confirmed dangerous plant or wildlife pests and diseases. Alerts also cover quarantine orders when created, changed, or removed, and related compliance agreements with the Texas Department of Agriculture. The service must sign a coordination agreement with that department, the Texas Animal Health Commission, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This agreement must ensure the service can issue required alerts within 72 hours of a covered agency action.
