Postmarks set timing for construction claims

Beginning September 1, 2025, covered Texas construction claims have a new legal start-date rule under Government Code Chapter 2272. The start date is the U.S. Postal Service postmark date on the required report. This rule applies only within that chapter. Other timing rules stay unchanged, including insurance-policy occurrence dates and deadlines under statutes of limitations or repose.
