New election rules for Sweeny hospital board

Beginning September 1, 2025, Sweeny Hospital District voters elect seven directors district-wide for numbered seats, called Places 1–7. At the first board meeting after that date, current directors draw lots to assign their places. The four directors whose terms end in May 2026 draw for Places 1–4. The three whose terms end in May 2027 draw for Places 5–7. The law does not set a direct household payment, benefit, or cost.
