Texas counties can recognize road donors

Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas counties can choose to join the Adopt-a-County Road program. Donors voluntarily fund repairs and maintenance for a specific county-road section in exchange for public recognition signs. The county commissioners court sets the donation amount required for recognition, and the county must install the signs. Donations can fund only the agreed road’s repair and maintenance, limited to uses allowed by Transportation Code Section 256.003.
