Starting with fall 2027 admission applications, services handling shared medical or dental school applications must include Texas nursing school applications. The law takes effect September 1, 2025. The Texas Health Education Service at University of Texas System Administration must appoint an advisory board by November 1, 2025. Members must represent Texas professional nursing programs and include people with nursing application expertise. The board must develop recommendations and an implementation plan, which the service must publish online by January 1, 2026. The board and its planning requirements end September 1, 2027, but the shared-application requirement continues. The law does not set application fees or guarantee admission.
