Texas appraisal district board candidates covered by Tax Code Section 6.0301 file campaign treasurer appointments with the county clerk or, where available, the county elections administrator. County, precinct, and other district candidates listed in Election Code Section 252.005(2) use those same filing offices. Appraisal board candidates also file ballot applications with the clerk or elections administrator in the county where the district is established. Candidates must still pay the required filing fee or submit a qualifying petition instead. These filing rules apply to appointments and applications required on or after the law’s effective date.
