Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas authorizes new filing rules for elevator, escalator, and related equipment inspections. The commission can allow or require reports, other documents, and fees to be filed using department-approved methods, including electronically. Reports and fees count as filed at the earliest of personal delivery, a U.S. mail postmark, courier deposit, or electronic submission. Mail and courier filings must be properly addressed to the executive director; electronic filings must follow the department's process. The law does not change inspection requirements or set new fee amounts.
