Texas narrows polling-place wireless device ban

Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas limits its wireless device use ban to rooms where voting takes place. The ban no longer covers the broader area within 100 feet of a voting station. Exceptions under Texas Election Code Sections 61.012 and 61.013 still apply. The secretary of state must require each presiding judge to post a notice stating the ban outside the voting room. The notice must be prominent and reasonably easy to see.
