Texas public universities gain temporary tax-credit access

Texas public colleges and university systems gain broader tax-credit eligibility for costs incurred January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2034. These costs are exempt from the depreciation and tax-exempt-use restrictions in Internal Revenue Code Section 47(c)(2). The section’s other requirements still apply. This changes institutional tax-credit eligibility, not household taxes or benefits.
