Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas health officials may issue one license covering a hospital and its mobile stroke unit. The unit must have accreditation from a health care organization approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The unit's license is exempt from the requirements of Section 241.023(g). State health officials must adopt rules to carry out the change as soon as practicable after that date. The law does not create a direct household payment or benefit.
