Texas limits use of unregistered code workers

Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas and local governments face limits on using unregistered code enforcement workers. They may conduct code enforcement without employing a registered officer only when the person doing the work is exempt. The exemption covers people licensed or registered under another Texas law who perform code enforcement under that license or registration.
