Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas retail fireworks permit holders have two new periods to sell fireworks to the public. Lunar New Year sales run from five days before the holiday through midnight on the holiday. May 1–5 sales are allowed only at locations within 100 miles of the Texas–Mexico border. Both new periods require approval from the county commissioners court. Existing sales windows remain: June 24 through the end of July 4, and December 20 through the following January 1. Existing statutory exceptions still apply to all these periods.
