More address privacy in Texas campaign reports

The law took effect September 1, 2025, and covers campaign reports required to be filed starting January 1, 2026. The Texas Ethics Commission must provide a report field marking whether an individual payment recipient’s address is a home address. Before posting reports online, the commission must remove contributors’ street addresses and individual recipients’ street addresses marked as home addresses. City, state, and ZIP code remain online. Full addresses remain available in office reports, but the commission cannot make the removed information available electronically at its office.
