Far North Fort Worth Municipal Utility District No. 1 serves parts of Tarrant and Wise Counties. The law lets it define areas or designate property within the district for property taxes and bonds. This financing must fund improvements, facilities, or services that mainly benefit that area or property—not generally and directly the whole district. Defined areas can include separate, non-touching land, without the usual acreage requirement. Taxes and bonds must follow Texas Water Code rules, and the district keeps its existing powers. The law itself imposes no tax and sets no tax amount. It takes effect immediately with two-thirds approval in each legislative chamber; otherwise, its effective date is September 1, 2025.
