Driftwood’s past district actions gain legal backing

Beginning September 1, 2025, the law confirms the Driftwood Conservation District’s governmental acts, elections, and proceedings taken before that date. It does not validate matters already ruled invalid by a final court judgment. It also excludes matters in litigation on September 1, 2025, if a final judgment later rules them invalid.

New boundaries for Driftwood Conservation District

The law replaces the Driftwood Conservation District’s land boundaries in Hays County with detailed survey descriptions and recorded maps. Described tracts include 394.112, 128.166, 0.1793, 37.0675, and 44.3905 acres. The 37.0675-acre tract includes a 0.1166-acre road right-of-way dedication beside RM 1826. A 134.6580-acre tract excludes 4.7233 and 10.4232 acres, leaving 119.5115 acres. An 81.7176-acre tract excludes 5.336 and 11.005 acres, leaving 65.3766 acres. The descriptions also cover 19.3018 acres and smaller 4.7233-, 1.435-, 5.336-, and 8.629-acre tracts. These descriptions overlap and are not a list of acreages to add together. The law does not itself create or change taxes, fees, or household benefits.
