Beginning September 1, 2025, Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 holds elections on November’s uniform election date in odd-numbered years. Two commissioners are elected in November 2025 and three in November 2027. The five commissioners serve staggered four-year terms. Commissioners serving as of May 2022 stay until their successors qualify after the November 2025 election. Commissioners elected in May 2024 stay until their successors qualify after the November 2027 election. Each successor serves a four-year term. While the district contains five municipalities, no more than one commissioner can be elected from any one municipality. A majority of commissioners must be present to conduct district business.
