Reporting relief for providers reviewing maternal cases

Texas health care providers, including nurses, get a narrow exception to professional reporting duties. It covers reportable professional conduct learned while reviewing information relevant to cases selected by the maternal mortality and morbidity committee. Only the reviewed information is exempt; reporting duties outside that review remain unchanged. The law provides immediate effect with approval from two-thirds of all elected members in each legislative chamber; otherwise, September 1, 2025.
