Beginning September 1, 2025, Texas drivers face higher fines for railroad-crossing offenses involving an ignored flagger’s warning. The fine rises from $50–$200 to $100–$400 only when ignoring the warning is proven at trial. The standard fine for other offenses under this railroad-crossing law remains $50–$200. Offenses committed before September 1, 2025, remain governed by the law in effect when they occurred.
