Doctor sign-off speeds disability pay for government workers

The law speeds disability annuities for Virgin Islands government workers in the Government Employees’ Retirement System (GERS). If one or more Board‑designated doctors give proper proof, you get a duty disability annuity automatically. If two licensed Board‑selected doctors say you are totally and likely permanently disabled, your claim skips the Committee of Medical Review. This applies to both duty and non‑duty disability claims, so decisions and checks come faster.
