Christiansted park renamed; new signage funded

The law renames Peter Carl Limpricht Park in Christiansted, St. Croix as “The Ten Sleepless Knights Park.” All laws, maps, official papers, and public signs must now use the new name. The Department of Sports, Parks, and Recreation gets $25,000 from the General Fund in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, to design, make, and install the new signs. This money stays available until it is spent and must be used for these sign costs. Signs must be easy to see at every entrance and say “The Ten Sleepless Knights Park.” Bronze plaques across the park must share the history and work of Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights. The Department must work with Planning and Natural Resources, the VI Council of the Arts, and Public Works to paint the park name in the roadway at each entrance using permanent paint and standard markings. All signs and markings must meet design and quality standards, and the Department must keep them up at least once a year.
