Beginning July 27, 2025, Washington community and technical colleges may waive all or part of tuition and student activity fees. The law removes the former minimum age of 19. Students must qualify for resident tuition rates and attend a program leading to a high school diploma or certificate. Students defined as eligible under RCW 28A.600.405 are excluded from this waiver. Colleges decide whether to grant waivers; the law does not guarantee free tuition.
