Short title; scope and construction of act.

Sec. 1. (1) This act shall be known and may be cited as the "animal industry act". (2) This act is intended to protect the health and safety of humans and the health, safety, and welfare of animals and to be consistent with applicable federal and state laws and shall be so construed.
