Certificate; place of live birth.

Sec. 2823a. (1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (2), when a live birth occurs in this state, the place of birth must be listed on the certificate as follows: (a) If the live birth occurs in an institution or en route to an institution, the place of birth must be listed as the institution. (b) If the live birth occurs in or en route to a freestanding birth center licensed under article 17, the place of birth must be listed as the freestanding birth center. (c) If the live birth occurs in a home, the place of birth must be listed as "home". (2) The place of birth of a child of unknown parentage who is found is as provided in section 2825.
