Violation of act; penalty; liability.

Sec. 8. (1) In addition to any other sanction provided for in this act, a person that violates this act is subject to a civil fine of not more than $5,000.00. The prosecutor of the county in which the violation occurred or the attorney general may bring an action to collect the fine. (2) A contractor and its subcontractor are jointly and severally liable for a violation of this act.
