NONDISCRIMINATION.

Minn. Stat. § 5B.14, under DATA PROTECTION FOR VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE.

Minn. Stat. § 5B.14

5B.14 NONDISCRIMINATION. § Subdivision 1.Prohibition of discrimination. A person or entity must not, on the basis of an individual's status as a program participant where a reasonable person, considering all the circumstances, would conclude that the refusal, different terms or requirements, or other action was motivated by the individual's status as a program participant rather than by a legitimate, nondiscriminatory business purpose, safety or operational concern, or a requirement of federal or state law: (1) refuse to provide services to an individual, including housing, banking, education, or any other services; (2) provide services to an individual on different terms or with different requirements than an individual who is not a program participant; or (3) otherwise discriminate against an individual. § Subd. 2.Remedies. In addition to any other remedies available, an individual who has been subjected to discrimination in violation of this section may initiate a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction to enjoin violations of this section. It is an affirmative defense to any action brought under this subdivision that the challenged action was taken: (1) in good-faith compliance with any applicable federal or state statute, regulation, or rule; or (2) for any other legitimate, nondiscriminatory reason that would apply equally to an individual who is not a program participant.
