Low-Speed Electric Vehicle -- Golf Cart Operated By Person With Low-Speed Restricted Driver's License -- Operating Requirements

(1) A low-speed electric vehicle may be operated only by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license. (2) A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may be operated only on a highway for which the posted speed limit does not exceed 25 miles per hour. (3) A low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license may not cross a highway with a posted speed limit of greater than 45 miles per hour. (4) Except as provided in subsections (1) through (3), the provisions of this chapter apply to a low-speed electric vehicle or golf cart operated by a person with a low-speed restricted driver's license.
