§ 500-m. Special provision relating to city of New York. Unless\nspecifically provided by law to the contrary, within the city of New\nYork or the counties constituting such city the term sheriff as set\nforth in this chapter shall be deemed to mean the commissioner of\ncorrection of such city.\n
