If the accused makes objections to the sufficiency of the articles of impeachment and such objections are sustained by a majority of the members of the senate, the decision must be entered on the journal and no further proceedings may be had upon the articles. If such
objections are not sustained by a majority of the members of the senate, the accused must be ordered forthwith to answer the articles.
