A general partner must be registered separately with the secretary of state at the time of filing a certificate of limited partnership or the application for certificate of authority of a foreign limited partnership whenever that general partner is either a domestic or foreign: 1. Corporation; 2. Limited liability company; 3. Limited partnership; 4. Limited liability partnership; 5. Limited liability limited partnership; 6. General partnership; or
7. Any other organization that has a registration responsibility with the secretary of state.
