Duration of reduction. Except as otherwise provided in this section, the premium reduction required by ORS 742.490 (1) shall be effective for an insured for a three-year period after successful completion of the approved course if the person is less than 70 years of age at the time of taking the course or for a two-year period after successful completion of an approved course if the person is 70 years of age or more at the time of taking the course.
