(a) The composition consisting of lyrics and music known as “Valiant Virgin Isles”, written and composed, by Gylchris Sprauve, is designated the Centennial Anthem of the Virgin Islands in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Transfer of the Danish West Indies, now the Virgin Islands, from Denmark to the United States of America.
(b) “Valiant Virgin Isles” encourages Virgin Islands national pride and recognition of our history, culture and the courageous acts by our ancestors in our fight and struggles for self-determination.
