19 V.I.C. § 1600

(1) “Autologous Blood Transfusion” means a transfusion of the patients own blood that has been donated prior to surgery and stored for use by the patient at a later date.

(2) “Designated Blood Transfusion” means a transfusion of blood that was donated by another person specifically for use by the patient.

(3) “Homologous Blood Transfusion” means a transfusion of blood donated by an individual at a blood bank, for use by any patient with a matching blood type.
