Unsatisfied security interest in a previously registered vehicle

20 V.I.C. § 280

(a) If a security interest in a previously registered vehicle is perfected under any other applicable law of the Virgin Islands at the time this chapter takes effect, the security interest continues perfected:(a) Until its perfection lapses under the law under which it was perfected or would lapse in the absence of a further filing; or(b) Until the earlier lapse of two years and nine months from the date this chapter takes effect; and(c) Thereafter if previously perfected under section 279 of this chapter.
