(a) This Act shall be known and may be cited as the “Virgin Islands Firearm Serial Number Regulation Act.”(a) All firearms manufactured, sold, transferred, or possessed in the Virgin Islands shall have a unique serial number engraved or stamped on the firearm by the manufacturer.(b) It is unlawful for any person to possess a firearm that does not have a serial number.(c) This section does not apply to:(1) Firearms that were manufactured prior to the effective date of this Act if they are registered with the appropriate authority within six months of enactment of this Act.(2) Firearms that are exempt under federal law.(d) Any person who violates this section is guilty of a felony and subject to a fine of not more than $10,000 and imprisoned for not less than fifteen years without parole.
