31 V.I.C. § 152 — under Government Motor Vehicle Management and Control Act.

31 V.I.C. § 152

(a) The Legislature declares it to be the policy of the Government of the Virgin Islands and the purpose of this chapter to:(a) Achieve maximum cost-effectiveness of Government motor vehicles in support of the established missions and objectives of the various Government agencies;(b) Eliminate the unofficial and unauthorized use of Government motor vehicles;(c) Minimize personal assignment of Government motor vehicles;(d) Acquire motor vehicles offering optimum energy efficiency for the tasks to be performed; provided, wherever practicable, the method of acquisition shall be by three year, fleet, noncapital leasing; and(e) Ensure Government motor vehicles are operated in a safe manner in accordance with the Motor Pool Safety Program.
